You Can Change the World!
Certain goals MUST be accomplished to not only improve humanity, and our life quality, but avert future disaster, including such things as (just examples: you can choose what's important to you):
Protection of the Physical Environment: We must reverse the atmospheric, water, and ground pollution of our planet to permanently preserve its natural ability to easily support abundant life for reasons which should have been obvious.
Elimination of Nuclear Weapons: so that a quarrel between nations cannot result in the quick destruction of our entire planet
Cessation of Genetic Engineering: so that our biome will not be polluted with artificial genetic tampering the consequences of which are not only unpredictable, but irreversible
Priority for Human Compassion: we should be spending our resources to help the innocent as a top priority not an afterthought
Compassion for Animals: can we agree that belief systems around the world need to recognize moral limits on how we should treat these life forms which share our planet with us?
Reduction in elective Abortion: can we agree that this is not the best method of birth control?
Truth: always a need
Righteous Leadership: always a need
Fair economic systems: always a need
Just Laws: always a need
Use of the world's resources for the most good
Why prayer: because it's:
the most potentially powerful form of activism, depending on the skill
the most available form of activism: out of no one's ability to participate so long as they're conscious
the most far-reaching form of activism: nothing is outside of its ability to influence
proven effective and often shockingly so, to make progress even with problems which seemed practically hopeless, such as with:
Rosary leading to Communist Pullout from Austria 1948
always of some effect even if only done by one person
Individual Prayer is usually the best way because:
Everyone believes a little differently, and prayer must be congruent with the sayer's individual belief or else it creates internal conflicts.
Group prayer tends to lack individual focus required for power which is usually better in individual prayer, except with the most focused group.
What to do:
Commit a regular time (absolute or relative) each day to say prayers of your choice, structured by you in a way compatible with your individual beliefs, to advance the causes which interest you, and say them with as much quality as you can muster.
for
example, when you wake up, say this:
"I pray that all
humans protect and restore the environment of our planet"
Resources:
The Secret is a good book/DVD except must be viewed with the understanding that:
the contributors are not God and do not know everything
the Bible includes just as significant direction on how to pray but somehow this obvious resource was not included in favour of more exotic resources
I strongly disagree with the idea that there is no Judge of the universe, that you're not accountable for your actions. Yes you are: even in human law.
